Tell our political leaders to keep the ACT in the lead.
The ACT ls leading Australia when it comes to renewables. The territory has a current goal of 100% renewable energy by 2025, and strong support for solar has seen more than 16,000 households go solar to save on power bills. Policies like zero net carbon emissions and investment in public light rail infrastructure and bicycle paths are helping to ensure a clean energy future for our kids and grandkids.
But there's an election coming up in the ACT which means all those good, sensible policies are at risk. Polling shows that the community is rock-solid in its support of renewables - we just need the decision makers to keep up.
That's why we're asking you to email Mr Andrew Barr (Chief Minister), Mr Jeremy Hanson (Leader of the Opposition) and Mr Shane Rattenbury (ACT Greens) to tell them to confirm their commitment to the ACT’s nation-leading policies:
- 100% renewable energy by 2025,
- zero net carbon emissions by 2040,
- investment in public light rail infrastructure and bicycle paths, and
- divestment from fossil fuels by 2020.
Help make sure the ACT thrives in a clean energy future.
